Google is making visual user interface changes to the Google Contacts app on Android, removing the navigation drawer and adding a new page for custom ringtones. A subtle redesign makes it easier to sort, tag, and filter contacts in the Google Contacts app.Available now Version 4.27.26 application, but you may need to restart the application for the redesign to take effect.
The navigation drawer is disappearing in many of Google’s first-party apps, now including Google Contacts. In addition to the drawers, there are three main switches available. There is a drop-down menu below the search bar that allows you to change the view. You can view all your contacts at once, view contacts associated with a specific Google Account, or create a custom view.
There are two switches on the left side of the new drop-down menu. There’s a tag picker that lets you create new tags or select existing tags, and a filter button that differentiates between phone contacts, email contacts, and companies. Generally speaking, the functionality here is not new, it’s just in a different location. Instead of a hamburger menu icon at the top of the main Google Contacts tab, there is a search icon.
Separately, Google is launching a new page for creating and managing custom ringtones in the Google Contacts app.it was found in Repair and manage tab, in Other tools part.after click contact ringtone options in the list and you will see a new page. You can use this tool to give each contact in the Google Contacts app their own unique ringtone.
“Add custom ringtones for individual contacts to help you identify callers,” the page explains. “To manage this device’s default ringtones, visit Settings.”
Following a server-side update, both changes are now rolling out in the Google Contacts app.Make sure your Google Contacts app is launched Version 4.27 or higher and reboot to see the new changes. The redesign joins other recent updates to Google Contacts, such as the real-time location of your contacts.
