IKEA is now selling a pair of its own USB-C chargers, starting at just $7.99. The 30W Sjöss charger comes with a USB-C port, and there’s also a 45W model (also called the Sjöss) with two USB-C ports for $14.99. This dual-port charger can only output 45W when one port is used at a time, but when both ports are plugged in, the output is halved to 22W per device.
IKEA’s chargers are compatible with Power Delivery (PD 3.0), Quick Charge (QC4+) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) specifications. Both chargers come with a colorful sticker that allows you to “personalize” them, which is useful in homes where kids or roommates can easily get confused.
While you should always check the fine print to see what charging standard (and voltage/current) your device needs to charge the fastest, 30W should be enough to quickly charge some Samsung devices and iPhones, even with the wattage of the base charger. Matching Apple’s supply for its MacBook Air equipped with M2. The 45W should also be able to handle some faster charging devices – again, though, be sure to check the fine print.
