Red Dead Redemption 2 surprise update launches HDR10+ game support, solving stability, error and other issues

Rockstar Games has released a game update for Red Dead Redemption 2 that fixes some glitches, improves stability, adds HDR10+ gameplay support, and prevents you from getting stuck when entering the stable.

Prior to this week, the last game update was released in January and fixed several issues that could cause crashes in the PC version of Red Dead Online.

Today’s update covers PC, PS4, and Xbox One and includes general fixes for Red Dead Online, which improves stability and performance, so that Night Stalkers can no longer collect Night Stalker masks, and the Windows 11 update should no longer interfere with offline mode when Horses will no longer ignore you when you are called upon – unlike some of the playful flesh horses I cared for when I was a farmhand.

The full patch notes are below.

Rockstar announced in 2022 that it would no longer release major updates for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online. This is due to all resources being diverted to the development of Grand Theft Auto 6. Red Dead Online’s final major content update, Blood Money, was released in July 2021.

Last year, the company released All Hallow’s “Call to Arms” locations, three new Dead of Night maps, Hardcore Telegram missions, and the return of Halloween Pass 2 in Red Dead Online’s third quarter. This year, monthly updates arrive in the form of bonus events for blood money, bounty hunters, and naturalists.

Released in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third entry in the Red Dead series and the prequel to Red Dead Redemption. After its release, the game’s cumulative sales since its opening weekend reached $725 million, surpassing the total sales of “Red Dead Redemption” within two weeks.

As of February 2024, the game has sold more than 61 million copies, making it one of the best-selling games of all time.
