Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade roundup for March 21, 2024. It’s Thursday, which means there are a lot of new games coming to the eShop. That being said, there’s a high concentration of Bin Bunch games these days, and decent games don’t offset it as much as I’d hoped. Well, I guess some weeks that’s it. Tomorrow will be better, but we have to deal with today first. Now that we’ve wrapped up everything worth wrapping up, we’ll get into the day’s new arrivals and expiring deals. At least there’s more action. Let’s start the game!

“Searching for Mr. Leaky Claw” by Scott Whistle ($14.99)
A point-and-click adventure game in which you search for a cat to enter in a feline beauty pageant. It has a fun look thanks to the use of 3D characters on hand-drawn backgrounds, and the suggested 12-hour runtime makes it a fairly fulfilling adventure. This type of game lends itself well to being played in handheld mode on the Switch, and I’m looking forward to spending some time with it again when I get the chance.
Bad Chicken ($19.99)
A side-scrolling shooter starring a chicken who loves telling silly jokes and quotes. It has eight levels, a ton of weapons and vehicles, and some incredibly tough enemies. I find the attempts at humor almost as exhausting as a shooter, and even the popcorn enemies can shrug off a lot of your shots, but I’m sure some of you will enjoy this game. The vibrant visuals really look great, and the gameplay seems responsive.
Karen Attack ($4.99)
I’m not much of a fan of meme games, but people who do like them might want to check out this new shooter. You pilot the Manager X-15 and fight evil robot Karens to save your city from…sigh, “entitlement”. I have no idea. This is one of those games where you have to die a million times to slowly upgrade your city. Ship to the point where you actually have a good chance of winning, grinding away the currency bit by bit. I believe it’s ok if you are interested in the subject.
Frenzy Sushi Battle ($19.99)
Somehow, we have two sushi-themed games today. However, they are very different from each other. It’s a party battle game for up to four players, with local multiplayer where you control strange little creatures and try to throw crap at each other. The last person alive wins, but even those eliminated can still disrupt the remaining players. There’s a single-player mode where you battle waves of zombie creatures, but this is a multiplayer game first and foremost. Seems like pretty chaotic fun, but I think most of us have plenty of games to satisfy that need right now.
Sushi Online ($1.80)
I feel like I’ve seen this before, but whatever.This is basically splash game, But it’s sushi instead of fruit, and there’s a flipping playground. The “online” bit in the title refers to the game featuring online leaderboards and an online multiplayer mode for up to four players. I guess if you like fruit pairings you might get at least a couple bucks out of it with sushi? Your call.
Arcade Archives Surprise Attack ($7.99)
Did you know Konami made a Rolling Thunder/NinjaA 1990’s style game? Of course I didn’t. This is one of the fun things about Arcade Archives. Many of these games have had their own ports, but some of them remain stuck in arcades, largely forgotten about.I don’t know if sneak attack It’s cool and stuff, but it does look good, and I’m always up for playing something like this. Maybe you do too. If so, please join my leaderboard and we’ll see what we can do.
Crimson ($9.99)
A precise platformer with a rhythmic component and some wild heavy metal style visuals and audio. It’s hard on my eyes, but maybe you can do better. If nothing else, it stands out in terms of looks. It’s also a tough game, so your fingers get a workout as do your senses. Not for me, but I knew it would be right up someone’s alley.
Stunt Paradise ($7.99)
Again, for new publishers, there’s no question. This seems like a very simple take on the Trials concept, except you get to drive twenty different cars instead of bikes. There are a total of fifty levels to play. Fantasy is kept to a minimum.
Area 98 ($0.99)
This is an extremely affordable platform game where you play as a little robot who has to destroy some bad robots. There are twenty-five levels in total, which equals four cents each. If you only have a dollar, I can imagine a much worse fate for the game than this.
