Amazon’s Spring 2024 Laptop Sale: MacBooks, Asus Gaming PCs, and More

Amazon is generally not a good place to buy laptops. Many of the models listed there come from sketchy third-party sellers, while rival retailers like Best Buy offer a wider selection and better prices. However, the retail giant tends to get its act together during major shopping events.

Such is the case with the Spring Sale, a new seasonal shopping event Amazon is hosting from March 20 to 25 that includes many above-average laptop discounts. (Plus, we know they’re all legal because they’re shipped and sold by Amazon itself.) It’s still not a huge selection, but it at least covers popular brands like Apple, Samsung, HP, Microsoft, Acer and Asus, including the former’s new M3 MacBook Air variant.

The latest 15-inch MacBook Air builds on the great design of its predecessor, with a faster M3 processor and added support for WiFi 6E and two external displays. “[It] Mashable technical editor Kim Gedeon writes: “It may seem like a simple update, but as someone who owns an M2 MacBook Air, I’d definitely trade it in for the newer model.” For most, this is our favorite MacBook. The discount is $95, which is the biggest discount since launching earlier this month.

After earlier selling for $299.99 in the Spring Sale, the Acer Aspire 3 is now even cheaper ($73 off), just $7 shy of its all-time low set back in November. You really have no right to complain about mediocre specs at this entry-level price point, but compared to most other laptops under $300, this guy’s hardware is above average: There’s a late-2022 AMD Ryzen 3 7320U processor for A healthy 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD storage and a 15.6-inch HD display for light multitasking. It’s a good choice for basic tasks like sending email and watching YouTube.

The 15.6-inch HP Envy x360 is a powerful convertible designed for everyday productivity, with a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, Intel Iris Xe graphics, and 1TB of massive storage. Amazon is selling this product for $869.99 as part of a “limited time offer” during its Spring Sale (note the “Claim Percent” column below its price), which puts it just $15 away from its all-time low.

We wouldn’t call it a budget pick, but it’s a very reasonable price for a sleek and durable gaming laptop with good specs, including an efficient AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, 1TB of storage, and a large (17.3-inch) 144Hz display. The current price on Amazon is $1,199.99, which is $100 cheaper than the Asus website. It’s just $2 away from its all-time low.
