You may be aware that things are changing at Gamer Network. In addition to the upcoming promotions we’ve known for a few weeks, we’ve made some changes to unify the video teams across all brands to create a video shooting super-team that encompasses everyone from Dicebreaker to Eurogamer.
This may not matter to you, but it means I can work with friends across the network more often, including attending Eurogamer’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 livestream with Ian Higton, of whom I’ve been a fan for a long time.
On Thursday, we took a look back at Dragon’s Dogma 2’s launch, including pawn creation, early side quests, and the perilous initial journey to the capital. I’ve started my own game about a week ago, and it’s nice to see how much early game content I missed, and how much I stumbled upon that Ian didn’t. As always, there are many forks in the road in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
It’s a riveting, engaging game that I’m sure we’ll be talking about for decades to come: a true modern classic. Yes, despite the endless criticism we received from angry Twitter users for Alex’s hands-on preview, in which he stated that three hours was enough time for him to know that DD2 was a solid GOTY contender, I can confirm He is right. It’s almost like VG247’s long-time assistant editor, who also owns and runs RPG Site, knows what the hell he’s talking about!
Anyway, looking at the opening of the game in the video above, there’s commentary from you and Eurogamer’s Ian Higton, who only makes one joke in the entire three hours about being “thrown by a dragon”, which I think shows a lot of Amount of good moral fiber.
