Amid a new round of internet speculation, the latest status of MJF vs. AEW – PWMania

In the 2023 AEW World Finals PPV event, Samoa Joe defeated MJF and became the new world champion. MJF has not appeared on AEW TV since the PPV and his profile was removed from the roster page in January.

This week, MJF’s merchandise page was apparently removed from ShopAEW.com, reigniting internet speculation about his status in AEW.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported on MJF’s condition, saying: “He is unable to compete due to a serious shoulder injury. Other than that, he does keep his condition as private as possible. “

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com also reported on MJF’s status. Sapp wrote: “Still rehabbing, I know some things are progressing slower than they expected, but from what I understand he was always planning on taking some time off no matter what. I don’t know if that was when the injury started happening , but a month after the World’s End pay-per-view, it’s clear he’s going to be taking quite a break.

In January, when asked about MJF’s status in the company, AEW President Tony Khan said: “If the contract situation allows, I hope that MJF can join AEW in the future.”
