Persona 3 Reloaded Fans are desperate to add a female protagonist to the game, but producers say it’s too expensive.
Sorry, Persona 3 fans, it looks like Portable’s playable heroine Kotone won’t be appearing in Reload, no matter how much you plead. In a recent interview with Persona Central, head producer Kazuhisa Wada was asked about the possibility of a Portable Exclusive character, and he essentially said that the cost of including her would be too high. “I want to start by apologizing, but unfortunately the heroine from P3R will not be appearing,” Wada said.

“Of course, we have also considered adding a heroine to “Aigis”, but the deeper we go, the more hopeless we feel… The development time and cost may be two to three times that of “Aigis”, “This makes It became challenging to completely delegate to an outside company and exceed our capabilities. Even if P3R and the Expansion Pass exceed our sales expectations and resolve cost issues, launch is still far away. ”
Wada apologized again and made it clear that the possibility of the heroine being available to play was extremely low, saying, “I’m very sorry to the fans, but I don’t think it’s possible for this to happen in the future.” Any. ”
If you didn’t know, Persona 3: Reloaded is actually the fourth iteration of the game. There was the original version, followed by Persona 3 FES, and shortly after Persona 3 Portable was released, both versions receiving new content. The main new content in FES is an epilogue called The Answer, or Episode Aegis in the Japanese version, which was not included in Reload at launch but has been confirmed to be released as part of DLC this September. However, Portable goes a step further and adds a full playable female protagonist, with her own storyline and more.
This will obviously be a bit disappointing for those who were hoping for even the smallest chance, but hey, you can always transform her!
