For the most part, we only see footage of what appears to be an abandoned space station, but as things progress, we learn more and more about what’s actually going on (which is to say, a lot of people died). We then get some footage of the cast having a really bad time, having to deal with facehuggers and aliens, all of which look like some classic alien horror.

This time around, Ridley Scott will serve as producer, with Fede Álvarez, best known for the 2013 Evil Dead remake, taking over as director. As far as the cast goes, the film is almost all newcomers, including Callie Spaeny (Priscilla), David Jonson (Murder Is Simple, Agatha Christie), Archie Raynor (Shadow and Bones), Isabella Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun) and Aileen Wu.

“While scouring the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with some of the most terrifying life forms in the universe,” explains the trailer’s description. We don’t know much about the film, but it’s set in between the events of “Alien” and “Alien,” so you don’t need to know much about the rest of the series.

“Alien: Romulus” is scheduled to be released later this year (August 16).
