- While it looks a lot like the previous model, it has a new chipset underneath.
- The chipset is believed to be the same Exynos 1280 chipset that powers the Galaxy A53 5G.
Putting an end to multiple leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally launched the third variant of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.
In the announcement, Samsung shared details of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) model, which is the successor to the model of the same name released in 2022. Samsung says the new tablet is “a stylish product designed for work and play. “
In terms of design, the new tablet has no major changes compared to its predecessor. It still sports the same 10.4-inch screen on the front with a 2000 x 1200 resolution, and the device is 7mm thick overall.
The tablet is available in Wi-Fi and LTE models, weighing approximately 465 grams and 467 grams respectively. Color options include Oxford Grey, Chiffon Pink and Mint, a new color offered for the first time by the company.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) is powered by an octa-core CPU with a clock speed of 2.4GHz. While Samsung didn’t mention the chipset in its announcement, the Exynos 1280 is believed to power Samsung phones like the Galaxy A53 5G. Storage options include 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage, with additional microSD support up to 1TB.
The large battery capacity of 7040mAh provides power for the tablet, ensuring at least 14 hours of uninterrupted video playback.
Samsung highlights S-Pen support on Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) as it claims increased productivity with the help of Samsung Notes on the large-screen tablet as users can take notes even without unlocking the device, which is a big plus on Galaxy Common on the S24 Ultra and other Ultra models with built-in S-Pen.
While the tablet doesn’t have a built-in S-Pen, it’s bundled and attached to the device and doesn’t need to be charged separately. Samsung points out that users can take advantage of the large screen for efficient multitasking.
Other notable highlights of the device include dual speakers powered by AKG, Dolby Atmos, Android 14, a single 8MP primary rear camera, and a 5MP selfie camera.
While Samsung specifies the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) model as a mid-range Android tablet aimed at young professionals, students, and families, its pricing and availability in various regions have yet to be confirmed.
Users must keep in mind that when the tablet becomes widely available, likely starting on March 28, 2024, storage options and color options may change based on region.
