long story short
- Google revealed that Circle to Search will now be available on more Pixel devices.
- The feature will also be coming to more Samsung phones as part of the One UI 6.1 update.
Google first launched Circle to Search on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, then brought the feature to the Pixel 8 series and Pixel 7 series. Now, Circle to Search is coming to more phones, including Google’s other Pixel phones.
Google announced that Circle to Search is coming to Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7a. It also notes that the feature will be coming to the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold soon, but doesn’t give an exact release date.
The feature is actually a parody of Google’s Now On Tap feature, allowing you to search for said content by tapping or (surprisingly) circling it as it appears on the screen. Google also noted that Circle to Search “soon” will also allow you to translate on-screen content, such as food menus or social media posts.
More Samsung phones also support Circle to Search
The news comes just hours after Samsung announced that Circle to Search would be coming to a range of older Galaxy devices as part of the One UI 6.1/Galaxy AI update. The phones are Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
Needless to say, it looks like you have no shortage of options if you want to try out this new feature. I do hope, though, that we see a widespread launch in the coming weeks so people with older phones can see what all the fuss is about.
That’s not the only news Google has to share today, as it also revealed some new travel-related features in search, maps, and shopping.
