Dbrand is scrapping plans to repair its anti-yellowing Ghost Case, not because it’s yellowing, but because it scratches easily. The company had promised to provide free replacement parts with a scratch-resistant coating in November, but now it’s telling customers via email that they’ll have to wait. The company said most of the products it produced ended up “unshippable,” so it will send out a redesigned “Ghost 2.0” this summer. Essentially, it’s a delay.
The company says first tests of the new coated cases looked good, but when it tried to mass-produce them, the coating became gummy around the edges:
