Jayden Daniels’ elbow on fire ahead of 2024 NFL Draft

An old photo of LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels’ elbow is setting the internet abuzz Wednesday morning.

Wednesday was LSU’s pro day at the team’s practice facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and many NFL teams were on hand to watch Daniels throw in preparation for the draft in April.

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner had a solid performance, but the attention online was focused on a photo of the quarterback Posted by NFL Insider Ian Rapoport as part of an update on the team’s plans to meet with potential top three prospects.

This image, taken by USA TODAY Sports from the LSU game against Alabama on Nov. 4, 2023, shows Daniels throwing the ball with what appears to be a bulging sac on his elbow , which left users on the X wondering why his arms looked so weird or if it was a bad editing or AI job.

"He needs a new elbow," A user on X wrote.

“Why is this photo so scary?” Another joked.

“This photo looks like it was photoshopped… God, his arms…” Someone else chimed in.

Others questioned why Rapoprt chose that particular photo to accompany the news.

“Is this the photo you have to use?” Some people question.

“We’re now using AI pictures Ian?” another user asked.

If anyone is worried that this strange phenomenon is a sign of a bigger problem with Daniels, sports medicine doctor Dr. Jesse Morse of the Osteopathic Center chimed in on social media Add context about the image.

“Jaden Daniels appears to be dealing with olecranon bursitis in his right throwing elbow,” he wrote. “This is inflammation of the bursa, a usually empty sac that protects the underlying bone. We have them in several joints, including the elbows and knees.”

He added: “These are very common and more of an annoyance than a concern. As long as they are not infected.”

Daniels’ elbow was not spotted during Wednesday’s pro day, and the NFL player wore a purple long-sleeved shirt with the name and number of LSU teammate Greg Brook Jr. , in honor of missing most of his senior season. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September, according to ESPN.

Daniels went through the field with representatives from all 32 NFL teams.
