The LEGO Group and Epic Games have introduced new LEGO tools in Fortnite (UEFN) and Fortnite Creative’s Unreal Editor, allowing creators around the world to design and publish their own LEGO islands in the game. The partnership, announced at the 2024 Game Developers Conference, aims to provide Fortnite creators with the creative potential of LEGO systems in the game.
Creators are provided with LEGO templates to facilitate the creative process and provide a variety of gaming experiences for gamers of all ages. Additionally, the LEGO Group has launched three new LEGO Islands in Fortnite, expanding the game’s creative possibilities.
Integrating LEGO elements, styles, and brand assets into Fortnite’s creative tools allows for the development of diverse experiences that must adhere to ESRB and PEGI rating guidelines to ensure player accessibility and safety. Creators who join the Fortnite Island Creator Program may also be compensated for their creations.

This move marks another milestone in the ongoing partnership between Epic Games and the LEGO Group, following the launch of LEGO Fortnite in December 2023. New LEGO islands include LEGO Prop Hunt, LEGO Battle Arena and LEGO Cat Island Adventure, each offering a unique gameplay experience.
Kari Vinther Nielsen, Director of Games and Creator Growth at LEGO GAME, are excited about democratizing creativity and enabling creators to leverage the LEGO brand in ways never before possible. The LEGO Group plans to launch more LEGO-themed experiences in Fortnite in 2024 and beyond.
