The Pixel 9 has appeared in a new set of CAD-based renders, suggesting that Google is taking a new approach to its phone launch schedule. We previously saw two sets of renders back in January, now said to be the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The new images show the same basic design as the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, with a flat metal frame and a revised camera island, which now has an oval shape and doesn’t distort into the frame like the visor on the previous two generations of Pixels.

Sources say the Pixel 9 will offer a 6.03-inch display (presumably a 120Hz OLED) compared to the 6.1-inch Pixel 9 Pro and 6.5-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL. The dimensions of the original Pixel 9 are 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm. Another major difference on the regular Pixel 9 is the dual-camera setup compared to the three cameras on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

It looks like Google may be taking a new approach with the Pixel 9 series, launching three devices at the same time. It remains to be seen how Google will price its upcoming devices and whether the regular Pixel 9 will end the Pixel A series of phones. Judging from past Pixel series leaks, we should have a clear idea of the situation in the coming months. The official launch will likely take place sometime in October, when Google usually launches its flagship products.
