Big news about more rural schools in the state and getting them online faster. Governor Mike Dunleavy has signed House Bill 193 into law.
The House and Senate fast-tracked the bill last week in hopes the governor would sign it.
It provides rural schools with up to nearly $40 million in state aid, matching federal funds, to provide 100 megabits per second internet service, the Alaska Beacon reported.
