Monster Hunter Wilds is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games coming out. The follow-up to Capcom’s best-selling game of all time, Monster Hunter World, was announced at last December’s Game Awards with a brief trailer.
The trailer’s real purpose is simply to show the world that the game exists, give it an official name, and establish a 2025 release target. Capcom hasn’t revealed anything about Brawl Stars since then, but some new details have emerged thanks to trusted insiders.

Dusk Golem (via VGC), whose name should be familiar to Capcom fans due to years of Resident Evil leaks (and Capcom news in general), arrives with some new information about Monster Hunter: Wild Returned. The game is indeed expected to be released in 2025, but they said it will be released in the first quarter of this year.
Development on the game is reportedly going well, so it’s not unreasonable to expect it to arrive around the same time as Dragon’s Dogma 2 releases this year (March). The insider is very confident about this release window, adding, “I don’t think even GTA 6 will make them delay the release.” Of course, GTA 6 is also scheduled to release around spring 2025, although recent reports suggest that It could be released by the end of this year, or even delayed to 2026.
According to Dusk Golem, Wilds began development back in 2019, meaning it has been in development for six years. It also appears to be Capcom’s biggest game ever, not just the most content-heavy Monster Hunter. They also revealed that Outer Wilds will be completely open-world and more experimental than Outer Wilds and Rise.
Monster Hunter World directors were reportedly given complete freedom in Wild and will bring back ideas that didn’t make it into Monster Hunter World. While not specifically named, large-scale monster encounters – like the one with Zora Magdaros from Outworld – will return, though we do hope they’re more exciting and engaging than that fight.
It sounds like Capcom is confident that Brawl Stars will be a huge success, as the company is counting on it to power the entire fiscal year. For Monster Hunter fans, this all sounds like it should be pretty exciting. We’ll likely get more official information in the coming weeks and months leading up to the game’s release.
