Next week is a big deal for Diablo 4, as it marks the launch of the game’s first-ever Public Test Realm (PTR) – a test server that players will have early access to before it’s released to the public. Several key gameplay changes change the population.
As you’d expect, Blizzard’s goal is to gather as much feedback and data as possible before implementing such a massive overhaul. If all goes well, all players will experience the fruits of this work in Season 4 in May.

As previously revealed, the Diablo 4 PTR will be available April 2 to April 9, only on PC via Battle.net. Participating is actually very simple. Via the Battle.net app, all you need to do is select Public Test Realm instead of regular Diablo 4 from the game version drop-down menu.
After switching, you will be able to install the PTR version alongside your existing live version. Once completed, you can log in and play the game. Please note that capacity is limited, so you will need to select an available test server before you can create a new role. Servers are available in North America, Europe, Korea/Japan, Southeast Asia, and Australia. If you’re new to Diablo 4, you’ll be happy to know that you can also join the PTR using the same method.
Blizzard has made some adjustments to character progression to allow players to test changes more quickly. For example, activity completed on your main account will carry over to the beta version. This also applies to mount unlocks, skill point generation, fog of war clearing on the map, and even Lilith Altar rewards.
You also have the option of leveling up your character to level 100, which is crucial for testing essential changes to the final game. You’ll find an NPC named PTR boost in Kyovashad, and he’ll take you there and reward you with a bunch of other useful items, like 100 million gold coins, 1,000 Obols, two random pieces of ancestral equipment with 920 power, upgrade potions , fully unlocked Paragon Glyphs and more.
You’ll be able to use these enhancements on any character you create and even trade them between them. To share your feedback, you can use the in-game feedback tool (available after pressing Esc and selecting Report a Bug). Simply use the drop-down menu to select the in-game feedback tool. There is also a dedicated Diablo 4 PTR forum that can be used during the PTR.
The Diablo 4 Season 4 PTR is designed to test several major changes to the game’s loot system, as well as several new crafting mechanics. Overall, they represent a big step forward for the game and will ultimately change its loot and item gameplay into something that promotes more build variety and reduces the drawbacks of bad/duplicate drops.
