Parineeti Chopra is no stranger to singing, but the internet is obsessed with her performance in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming musical Amar Singh Chamkila “Amar Singh Chamkila” (Amar Singh Chamkila), which stars her alongside Diljit Dosanjh, was not a friendly performance at the trailer launch. A user on Instagram commented on the video of Parineeti singing at the event and wrote, “Hidden talent is good…keep it hidden (skull emoji).” Another commented: “Aaj gaane ki zidd na kro (teary laughing emoji)”, a hilarious rendition of Farida Khanum’s classic song Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo. A third wrote: “The best alarm clock ringtone for waking up early.” A fourth user was more direct: “One word to describe her singing: stop.”
Some also claimed that Diljit Dosanjh’s expression told the entire story. Another compared her singing voice to that of her cousin, actress and Bigg Boss star Mannara Chopra. One user even claimed that she is “just one step above senior music composer Anu Malik”.
However, some people praised her performance. One user commented: “Gati to sach me bht achha hai, par sach bolu aaj usne achha nahi gaya (She actually sang well but to be honest, not good today) (bowing emoji)”. Another netizen wrote: “Wow! Such a beautiful voice. Even Diljit was stunned.” “Acha gari h (she sang so well),” commented a third.
Parineeti made her playback singing debut with the romantic hit song “Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin” from Akshay Roy’s 2017 film “Meri Pyaari Bindu”. She is a classically trained singer who plays Amarjot Kaur, the girlfriend of popular Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, in the musical of the same name. Sing some Punjabi songs.
