A few days ago we saw the first purported iPhone 16 Pro cases leaked, showing the rumored shooting button on the side, and today the non-Pro models are getting the same treatment. That said, we have a new phone case leak that shows two cases that are said to be for the regular models – iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
These confirm the rumored changes to the camera island design of the upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. As you can see, the two sensors will no longer be arranged diagonally within the square-circle shape.

This year, they’ll be one below the other in a vertical camera bump, with an LED flash array centered on the right side of said bump. The latest prototypes of non-Pro iPhone 16 models have two separate rings for the two cameras, housed in a pill-shaped raised surface.
This makes it seem like Apple has taken some inspiration from the iPhone X in terms of design. But the rescheduling is intended to enable spatial video recording on both phones launching this fall.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are also said to borrow the operating buttons from the iPhone 15 Pro, as well as the rumored pressure-sensitive shooting button from the iPhone 16 Pro.
It’s still early in the iPhone design cycle, so things could change before the phones are expected to be released in September, so keep that in mind.
