The good news is that if you’ve been experiencing freezing issues since the last patch was deployed in Helldivers 2, there’s now a new patch designed to prevent at least some instances of the game from happening when you use certain guns.
If you’re not in the know, things were going great for Soldiers of Super Earth in the game until some nasty issues arose last week that may have caused the failure of a major order that some players seemed to be told wasn’t There was no failure in doing so, although it certainly failed. Arrowhead has been working hard to fix a lot of these issues, and here’s a big fix as the focus starts to shift back to the cool things that could be happening in the game next.
As detailed in the very snappy notes for patch 1.000.104 released last week, it has a job, and hopefully a good job. One of these efforts is to fix the game’s arc-based weapons and stop the behavior when shooting them causes the game to freeze. The guns and strategies in question are the Arc Thrower, Arc Shotgun, and Tesla Tower.
They’re all used to fire a bit of lightning at a bug or robot in a cool-looking arc, which wouldn’t be cool if they caused you to quit the game mid-operation. But, hopefully now this should be a thing of the past.

If you’re wondering what these mechanics would be like, running out of ammo seemingly in seconds and likely having to convince teammates to carry a giant drum magazine for you, most likely in lieu of their own guns, this is If Pierce Tate’s follow-up tweet is anything to go by, that’s what’s on the table.
So, maybe now is a good time to return to Galactic War, so you’re ready for whatever twists and turns may come next.
