An annoying bug means Final Fantasy 7 Reborn digital players are now unable to earn the Platinum trophy

work hard to get that final fantasy 7 reborn Platinum trophy? You’re not the only one, as a bug is preventing registration of specific trophies.

As of now, if you’re playing a digital copy of Final Fantasy 7 Reborn, you won’t be able to earn all of the trophies in the game. Originally reported (and experienced) by Kotaku writer Zack Zwiezen, the bug is affecting a specific trophy, the one you earn when you beat the highest score on the game’s G-Bike arcade simulator. To get the trophy, you have to specifically beat the Ultimate Party Animal’s high score, but this bug only seems to have appeared after the game’s 1.020 patch, and it prevents the game from recording your score, meaning you can’t earn the trophy, as well as the platinum trophy.

While there is a workaround, unfortunately it is currently only available for physical players. If you’re playing a game on a disc, you’ll need to go through the annoying process of uninstalling the game, disconnecting the PS5 from the internet, and then reinstalling the game. After that, you need to reload the save before completing the side mission and get a high score after that. Obviously you have to hope that your previous save wasn’t too early before that, so I feel sorry for any trophy hunters who may have to go through this process.

For digital players, there is currently no solution. Hopefully Square Enix is aware of this issue and plans to fix it, but apparently if your save data has technically registered that you’ve completed the side mission, then there’s the question of whether the trophy can be unlocked unless you go back to before save, but this can result in a significant loss of time. Now, you just have to cross your fingers, or just wait to complete that side quest.
