Bixby, Samsung’s answer to ‘Siri’, is getting an AI boost

According to an interview with CNBC Executive Vice President Won-Joon Choi, Samsung plans to focus on its Bixby voice assistant through powerful artificial intelligence (AI) upgrades.

Not to be outdone by rivals, the Samsung executive vice president said the company is investing in “generative artificial intelligence and LLM (large language model) technology” for its core voice assistant.

Since its launch in 2017, Bixby has been included in a range of Galaxy devices, from mainstream offerings to more sophisticated phones like the A series and Galaxy Flip. You can’t do much with the voice assistant, but Samsung executives hope that with a little push from artificial intelligence, you’ll soon be able to do everything with it.
