YouTube TV is one of the best options for live sports events, and one of the main reasons is its multi-view feature. You can watch up to four games simultaneously via multi-view. While this may seem overwhelming if you’re not a sports fan, it’s one of the few ways to ensure you don’t miss any games from your favorite sports league. YouTube TV broadcasts live NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and Premier League football games. It also provides exclusive access to NFL Sunday Ticket, which features every NFL game.
YouTube TV is already a great option for those who want live TV without traditional cable, but with YouTube TV Multiview, you can watch the kids while they enjoy Disney or your spouse watch their favorite TV Watch your favorite activities while watching the show. There are many reasons why people would want to watch four shows at the same time, and now they can do so with MultiView.
YouTube TV can show four streamers on screen at the same time, but there’s a catch
You can watch four live streams simultaneously, just in time for March Madness.
Multiview designed for streaming devices
Multiview allows you to watch two to four streams simultaneously on YouTube TV. It divides your TV screen into four equal parts. However, this feature is not available in every version of the YouTubeTV app. It’s only available in the YouTube TV app on streaming boxes like Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV. It does not work on mobile devices and laptops. Most YouTube smart TV apps don’t support this feature either. So, if you’re wondering why you can’t find any multi-view options on YouTube TV, you probably don’t have the right device.
How to watch four streams at the same time using YouTube TV Multiview
If you go to YouTube TV’s home screen, there are three ways to find channels that currently offer a multi-view experience. You’ll see all available multi-view streams listed in the “For You” section on the home screen. There’s also a Multiview section on the home screen, which contains all the latest multiview streams.

Then, press the remote while content is playing, and a multi-view button will appear in the lower left corner of the screen. Select it to view a menu containing all available multi-view options. It will appear on the right side of the stream.

When using multiview, all streams will appear segmented on the screen. Audio will play from the stream in the upper left or left corner of the screen (depending on the number of streams). You can use the directional keys on your remote to move audio from one stream to another. The channel on which audio is playing will be highlighted by a white box around it. You can also go full screen on a specific stream – by clicking on it while its audio is selected. This will turn off other channels and return to normal single channel viewing mode.

What you can watch with YouTube Multiview
The most common complaint about Multiview is that you can’t choose which channels or shows to watch. Instead, you can choose from preset content options that support multi-view functionality. Therefore, sometimes you may not be able to find all four NFL games you want to watch. Or sometimes you might want to watch a game in split screen while your spouse is watching her favorite show – only to find that both can’t be used simultaneously in multi-view.
Google explains on its Multi-View FAQ page why it can’t offer fully customizable Multi-View: “Our goal with Multi-View is to make it available to everyone with a TV. Since most devices don’t support Multi-View hardware, so we had to process the video feed on our servers to make multi-view possible.”

Advice on using multiview as a sports fan
If you want to make the most of YouTubeTV’s multi-view feature, then you’ll want to make sure you connect the best sports packages YouTube has to offer, such as add-ons like NFL Game Pass and NBA League Pass.
You can also add the YouTubeTV Sports+ package to your basic YouTube TV subscription, but we recommend checking out the channel first. Currently, the NFL and NBA are the only two major sports leagues where every game can be watched on YouTubeTV. But you must subscribe to NFL Game Pass and NBA League Pass.
You can get NFL Game Pass directly in the YouTubeTV app, but NBA League Pass must be purchased through the NBA app and linked to your YouTube TV account. If you’re a fan of either league, YouTubeTV with its multi-viewer feature is a great way to watch the upcoming season. You can stream four games simultaneously without having to connect four TVs.
