Motorola may be preparing to release three new phones on April 3. The global launch, being held in India for the first time, will introduce the company’s new Edge 50 series to the world. Motorola is heavily marketing the Edge 50 Pro right now, but the star of the show may be the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, a flagship phone powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform. The device may later be launched in the US as Edge Plus (2024).

After the design and specs of the so-called Edge 50 Ultra were leaked last week, leakers Evan Blass A short marketing video for the device was shared on X (formerly Twitter), giving a clearer look at the device. Check out the video below.

As you can see, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra ditches the sleek slab we’ve seen on its latest flagships, opting instead for a curved display. The corners are neatly rounded, and there are slim bezels at the top and bottom. One of the videos suggests the phone will have stereo sound, while another suggests it will have an IP68 or other waterproof rating.

Blass didn’t reveal the specs of the phone, but previous leaks suggested it would have three rear cameras using 50MP sensors, including a 75mm periscope lens with 5x optical zoom.

The phone is expected to be available in three colors: Pantone 2024 color, peach plush, black, and brushed finish. It should run Android 14 and offer updates for three years.

It was previously thought that the upcoming Edge 50 Pro would be Motorola’s flagship phone this year. However, it is expected to feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, making the Edge 50 Ultra the more high-end device of the two. It remains to be seen whether Motorola has more flagship phones ready to launch in the US, or if the Edge 50 Ultra will come to the US as the Edge Plus (2024).
