The upcoming Edge 50 series is likely to have at least three models, with the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion models already appearing – thanks to some confirmations from the company as well as some renders. However, the latest leak from Evan Blass and Android Headlines shows off the upcoming Edge 50 Ultra in all its glory.
Blas has Posted multiple videos This appears to be marketing material ahead of the Edge 50 Ultra’s launch on the X. The first of the batch confirms a slightly curved display, along with very small bezels and a thinner mid-frame.
At first glance, the design reminds us of the older Galaxy S10 series. At the back, however, it sports a textured finish with a prominent camera housing that blends seamlessly into the rear frame, reflecting the company’s updated design language as seen on phones like the Moto G 5G 2024.
The back case houses three cameras and the front has a selfie shooter on the punch-hole display. Blass’s second teaser highlights the Edge 50 Ultra’s beautiful and bright display as well as the device’s stereo speaker setup, as speaker grilles can be seen on the top and bottom panes of the Ultra phone.
However, the other three videos suggest that the device will feature solid display protection, water resistance, and some skin tone enhancements, with the latter expected to be an important camera feature on the Edge 50 Ultra. The triple camera setup will allegedly include a 50MP primary camera, a periscope, a secondary camera, and laser autofocus between the sensors.
Meanwhile, Android Headlines has also shared renders of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, showing off some high-quality images of the device from various angles. The Ultra is expected to be available in three colorways: peach fuzz, black, and light beige. The first two models are likely to feature a vegan leather finish, while the light beige one will feature some textured finishes.
According to Android Headlines, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which sits below the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and powers most Android phones this year. That could mean an affordable flagship from Motorola along with a new AI focus.
The device is expected to be released in April along with other models, with the speculation date being April 3, 2024, when the Edge 50 Pro will be released A new Hello UI will be launched For Android 14. This is also partly based on the date seen on the home screen (although that date appears on most Motorola phone renders, so take this with a grain of salt). Additionally, availability may vary across regions, and the Edge 50 Ultra is also expected to be called the X50 Ultra in some regions.
