Nearly 2,000 homes in rural eastern and southeastern Jefferson County will soon have access to high-speed internet.
The project, spearheaded by Ward 20 Councilman Stuart Benson, has been in the works for more than a decade.
Benson called high-speed internet “a necessity for business, education and civic life.”
“This is undoubtedly one of the most important projects since the founding of the consolidated government,” said Benson. “We are excited to announce that the entire county will soon have access to the broadband they need to run their businesses, educate themselves, and make this community a A stronger Louisville metro area.”
This expansion is made possible by federal and state government grants and assistance from Spectrum.
