Bixby has been around for quite some time, and while Samsung is busy adding Galaxy AI capabilities to its various apps and services, the voice assistant has received little love in terms of gen-AI capabilities.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t revealed any more details about how it plans to incorporate artificial intelligence into Bixby. It’s unclear whether Bixby will transform into a full-fledged conversational AI chatbot like ChatGPT and Google Gemini, but according to Samsung executives, the company is “working hard” to provide generative AI capabilities for its core digital assistant.
Samsung has previously said that Bixby will coexist with Galaxy AI on its smartphones. The company mentioned during CES 2024 that artificial intelligence will help SmartThings and Bixby work together.
