Stellar Blade preview says Sekiro is better than Bayonetta

However, it sounds like what we’re getting is a more structured affair that requires a bit of patience and thought as you travel through its world. I’m excited, especially because all the previews I’ve read so far seem to have the same consensus: Star Blade could breathe new life into the action game genre.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at what people are talking about Star Blade.


Star Blade It won’t hold the player’s hand, but it will reward patience. Eve can block, dodge, and parry attacks, but the window to execute the latter two options is much smaller than in a game like this Rise of the Ronin. In a sense, combat feels more like something you’d experience in a Souls-like game rather than a straight-up action game. Actually, Star Blade Has its own version of a campfire. These checkpoints will resurrect all enemies you defeat when activated, just like in the Souls games.

Special dodges sound great and feel great to pull off, giving some of the fights a rhythm that rings out to the battle music. However, regular dodge is so unreliable that I just parry everything. It felt like Eve had dodged half a step and was invincible for about two frames. I’m hoping some skill tree upgrades will fix this, but until then it’s just a parry for me.

At some point in the game, Eve will also be able to use ranged gun weapons. Shooting projectiles from an over-the-shoulder camera perspective feels like a typical third-person shooter. While melee combat is still the main focus, there are some situations that require the use of a gun in order to progress, and there are clearly stages designed for this weapon, but I didn’t play any of them.

While it may feel like your fingers are overwhelmed with options at first, finding a rhythm is refreshing and satisfying.It’s hard to make a direct comparison as the gameplay relies more on timing than anything like that Ring of Elden, but it also doesn’t have combo-based combat like Devil May Cry .Perhaps the closest reference point is a version like this god of war ragnarok, in the more difficult boss battles, perfect parry timing is very important. In between all the action, you’ll explore an abandoned Earth that still harbors the remnants of humanity, along with all the destruction caused by the alien invaders. The visual presentation is absolutely stunning, and is enhanced by the excellent use of the DualSense controller, which conveys the subtle click of raindrops across the pads and the clang of steel when you grab that perfect block.

The trailer reveals some of the costumes, locations, and enemies Eve will encounter as she works to free Earth from the mysterious Netibas. The game’s first level is a good indication that Shift Up is more than capable of creating a fair and engaging action experience, effectively borrowing features from action games that set the bar high.if Star Blade Keeping up the momentum built throughout the demo, Shift Up will likely raise the bar even higher in its first full game.


I don’t know about you, but this all makes me super excited Star Blade. It sounds like Shift Up has been cooking quietly in the kitchen, absorbing the techniques of its contemporaries while infusing Korean flavors to offer some familiar delicacies reinterpreted through the studio’s unique skills. Of course, this is all based on roughly two hours of gameplay.The full version may prove something completely different, but for now, it sure sounds like Star Blade Could be the PlayStation 5 exclusive we’ve been waiting for.I’m ready to know when Star Blade Landed on April 26th.
