AnTuTu Benchmark releases a monthly chart showing us which chipsets score the best, and today the chipsets for March are out. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 defeated Dimensity 9300 to take the March 2024 AnTuTu crown, but there are many things to pay attention to.
First, these numbers are only calculated for device versions that run the AnTuTu benchmark at least 1,000 times in a month. If the high-end iteration of a model does not exist, it is because fewer than 1,000 runs were performed on that particular variant. Additionally, AnTuTu’s chart only counts benchmarks conducted in China. With all of that out of the way, here are the numbers.
As you can see, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage was the king in March, with an average score of 2,141,448. Following closely behind is the Oppo Find X7 with Dimensity 9300, 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, with an average score of 2,138,119. In third place is the iQOO 12, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, with an average score of 2,110,595.
The fourth place goes to the Red Magic 9 Pro+ with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, followed by the vivo X100 Pro with Dimensity 9300, 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The bottom half of the top ten is completed by iQOO Neo9 Pro, iQOO 12 Pro, vivo X100, nubia Z60 Ultra and Oppo Find X7 Ultra, all of which except iQOO are powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Neo9 Pro and vivo X100.
Therefore, all the models in the top 10 are equipped with the latest and greatest from Qualcomm or products from MediaTek. The conspicuous absence of any Xiaomi devices in the chart may indicate that the company is currently less focused on optimizing its smartphones for AnTuTu. Or, if you want to see the proverbial glass half-empty, you can assume that Xiaomi’s top dog can’t match the performance and cooling of its competitors.
AnTuTu also has a separate chart for mid-range chipsets, where the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 wins, thanks to the OnePlus Ace 3V, which leads with an average of 1,466,728 points. This is followed by the Redmi K70E powered by the Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC, with an average score of 1,391,125 points, and the Realme GT Neo5 SE powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC, with an average score of 1,156,867 points.
Next up is the Redmi Note 12 Turbo with the same Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, and rounding out the top five is the Oppo Reno11 and its Dimensity 8200. The rest of the top ten includes iQOO Neo7 SE (Dimensity 8200), iQOO Z8 (Dimensity 8200), Redmi Note 12T Pro (Dimensity 8200-Ultra), OnePlus Ace (Dimensity 8100-Max) and Honor 100 (Snapdragon 7 three generations).
The No. 1 Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and the No. 1 Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 go to show you how misleading Qualcomm’s naming scheme can be, as the former scores on average about 75% higher than the latter.
