Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched the entry-level A3 back in February, and it looks like it will launch a slightly modified version of the phone this month called the Redmi A3x. It has been documented in a database showing its name and two model numbers, one for the Indian market and the other for global markets – so we even know where it will be launched.
The Redmi A3x has model number 24048RN6CG globally and 24048RN6CI in India as “G” and “I” are the suffixes for Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices in these markets.
The “2404” part of the string strongly hints at a release this month (April 2024), but don’t take that as a given – there have been instances in the past where actual releases lagged behind what was indicated in the model numbers.
Unfortunately, the specifications of the Redmi A3x have not been revealed so far, but given its name, we expect it to be a slightly modified version of the already launched A3.
By the way, Redmi A3 comes with 6.71-inch 90 Hz LCD display, MediaTek Helio G36 SoC at the helm, 3/4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB expandable storage, 8 MP rear camera with 0.08 MP on the sides Decorative lens, 5 MP selfie snapper, and 5,000 mAh battery with 10W wired charging support. It runs Android 14, which the A3x may also run. We will let you know when we find out more information about the Redmi A3x.
