140 is bigger than 120!
SilverStone has upgraded its IceMyst 420 AiO CPU cooler with three 140mm fans, suitable for cases that can accommodate larger fans. If this model isn’t quite right for you, there are also 140 and 280 versions. FPS Review tested the IceMyst using the stock fans that come with the cooler, as well as three iMF70 fans, to see if they had any effect on the sound produced and the effect on temperatures. Installation is described as being very simple, but you should note that SilverStone uses proprietary wiring, which makes chaining the fans together easier, but you may object to this decision.
The three iMF70 fans don’t add much to the IceMyst 420, and while they did bring it down a degree or two in some tests, they also add to the noise emitted by the cooler. If you stick with the stock fan, it never breaks 48.6 dB(A) at full load, and the cooler is mostly quiet at lighter loads. In terms of temperature, they are the best FPS Review has ever seen.
