Do you like Sandman? Netflix’s next supernatural series Dead Boy Detective might be right up your alley

If in 2022 Sandman has won you over and you want more from this universe, then you’ll want to check out Netflix The newest member of its world, dead boy detective.

Like The Sandman , Dead Boy is based on the graphic novel of the same name, also originally written by author Neil Gaiman, and Netflix just released the first full trailer for the series today. Not only is this upcoming supernatural series written by Gaiman, it follows two best friends (who are also ghosts) who work together to solve supernatural crimes, and is set in the same world as “The Sandman.” You can even get a quick look at Kirby Howell-Baptiste reprising his role as Death from The Sandman.

“Edwin and Charles are best friends, ghosts…and the best detectives in the mortal plane,” Netflix’s description of the series reads. “They will do anything to stick together – including escaping an evil witch, hell, and death. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal and her friend Nico, they are able to decipher some of the mortal realm’s most mysterious of paranormal phenomena.”

The production is also being produced by a mixed team, including several producers from Netflix’s “You,” with “The Flight Attendant” creator and soon-to-be “Star Trek 4” writer Steve Yockey directing. drama. This probably isn’t the first time you’ve seen the Dead Boy detectives on screen, either, as the characters actually appeared in the DC series Doom Patrol (the original comics were published by DC Comics publisher Vertigo). While the main two dead boys have been recast, Ruth Cornell (Supernatural) is actually reprising her role as the night nurse.

You won’t have to wait that long to check out the series, either, as it’ll be released on April 25, just a few short weeks away.
