long story short
- Lines of code in the Skype Android app indicate that a teleprompter mode is in development.
- This mode allows you to change text style, text size, and teleprompter speed.
Skype, one of the best alternatives to FaceTime on Android, seems to be working on a new feature for the Android app. The feature will enable users to turn their phones into teleprompters.
APK teardowns help predict future features that may appear on the service based on ongoing code. However, such predicted functionality may not be publicly released.
In the latest version of the Skype app for Android, we were able to find multiple strings referencing teleprompter mode. These strings reveal what actions the user can perform using the feature.
It appears users will be able to change text style, text size and teleprompter speed. The feature will also provide a demo script that you can edit. Users will be able to preview the script.
It’s unclear from these strings exactly how this teleprompter mode works. But it could work similarly to the mode seen in Xiaomi phones, where a window with text appears on the screen.
