Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, known for her outspoken views, has once again stirred up controversy with her latest statement. The Bollywood actress, who is fielded by the Mandi-based Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claimed at an event that Subhas Chandra Bose was India’s first prime minister and not Jawa Jawaharlal Nehru, which shocked many people.
In a clip of the interview that went viral on social media, she said: “Let me clarify something first. Where did Subhas Chandra Bose, the first prime minister of India, go when we got independence?” despite the interviewer’s attempts to correct him. She, she still insisted: “No, please clarify today. Where did he go?”

Subhas Chandra Bose died on August 18, 1945, and India gained independence on August 15, 1947. Jawaharlal Nehru became India’s first Prime Minister in 1951 and served until 1964.
