Qualcomm recently announced its new flagship ARM chip for Windows computers, the X Elite, but the chipmaker is testing a secondary chip that is expected to be called the Snapdragon X Plus.
The SKU number of the related SoC is X1P. Considering that the Snapdragon X Elite is the X1E, then we can logically think that it is the Snapdragon X Plus.
Qualcomm has been testing the X1P44100 and X1P46100 chips since at least February. Both SoCs have a Snapdragon X65 5G modem built-in, but we have no other information about the chip architecture.
We can expect the core of the X Elite to be the base of the X Plus, just downclocked, but that’s just speculation on our part. Winfuture’s report states that a 10-core Snapdragon X Plus is likely to be launched to complement the 12-core X Elite.
Qualcomm’s custom ARM cores are expected to bring meaningful competition to Apple’s ARM chips.
