long story short
- According to the tipster, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may be equipped with a 4,400mAh battery.
- The leaker also confirmed previous reports of 25W charging speeds.
- This will be the same battery and charging specifications as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series offers the same battery and charging specifications as the 2021 Galaxy Z Fold 3. Unfortunately, it sounds like you shouldn’t expect any upgrades with the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Leaker Ice Universe File a claim against X The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will indeed come with the same battery and wired charging speeds as its predecessor. That means a 4,400mAh battery and 25W wired charging speeds.
However, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the Z Fold 6’s 25W charging feature. A regulatory listing for the foldable device emerged last week, and indeed again pointed to 25W speeds.
Still, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with 25W charging and a 4,400mAh battery will disappoint as rival devices have upped the ante over the past few years. Foldable phones in the US, such as the OnePlus Open and Google Pixel Fold, both offer batteries of around 4,800mAh, while OnePlus devices offer faster wired charging speeds (67W). Meanwhile, devices like the HONOR Magic V2 and HUAWEI Mate X5 both offer around 5,000mAh batteries and 66W wired charging speeds.
It’s also disappointing because we thought the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s battery life was mediocre anyway. So Samsung needs to rely on chipsets and software again to achieve any meaningful stamina gain.
On the bright side, the recently leaked Galaxy Z Fold 6 suggests that the upcoming foldable phone may bring wider screen coverage, lighter weight, and a titanium design. But don’t be surprised if this phone is again very much an iterative upgrade.
