It is rumored that Samsung will bring Fan Edition Galaxy Watch for the first time this year. While there are few details on the matter so far, new information strongly suggests that this is indeed happening.
We first heard about the Fan Edition Galaxy Watch (tentatively named Galaxy Watch FE) earlier this year, which meant it would appear on products like the Galaxy Watch 4. Android Headlines confirms this with new information. It appears to be a new version of the Galaxy Watch 4, which will be renamed Galaxy Watch FE.
Android Headlines further states that the Galaxy Watch FE will be available in global, US and Korean markets, with corresponding models carrying SM-R866F, SM-R866Uand SM-R866N, respectively.What’s not known is that the Galaxy Watch 4 also comes with SM-R860F Model Number – The similarity between these numbers further suggests that the Galaxy Watch FE is likely to be an improved version of the Galaxy Watch 4.
If Samsung’s previous fan edition products are any indication, with the upcoming Galaxy Watch FE, we can expect some goodies from the flagship smartwatch models of the time.
Meanwhile, we also recently saw an update to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) two years after launch, dubbed the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022). While most specs of both tablets remain the same, the 2024 model comes with a new chipset.
Likewise, in addition to bringing some of the highlights of the Galaxy Watch 4, the upcoming Galaxy Watch FE is also expected to come with the rumored new Exynos chipset for better performance.
The fact that it’s an FE model also means it will be an affordable product, with previous rumors suggesting the Galaxy Watch FE would cater to the mid-range segment to compete with the most affordable smartwatches, something Wear OS has yet to really capitalize on It’s time for new models to be released. As for the Galaxy Watch FE launch, it’s expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Watch 7 series (likely Pro and Classic models) later this year, presumably right after the Galaxy foldable phone.
