- The Google Pixel 8a has been spotted in an ad ahead of its expected launch.
- The device comes in two colors and has a matte frame.
- Pixel 8a is expected to be launched at Google I/O 2024 on May 14, powered by the Tensor G3 chipset.
Pixel 8a is Google’s next highly anticipated product, expected to be unveiled at the Google I/O conference in May. However, a recent Google Fi ad seems to have given us an official look at the Pixel 8a in two different colors.
As reported on YouTube and GSMArena, the ad shows off the Pixel 8a in what looks to be Porcelain and Bay, similar to what we’ve seen on current Pixel 8 devices.
While the ad doesn’t specify that the phone shown is a Pixel 8a device, the curved corners and thinner camera hood appear to be consistent with what we’ve seen in previous renders of the device, which is a big departure from the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a . Even the Pixel 7a. GSMArena also points out the placement of the rear microphone, which appears to be different from other Pixel models and not visible on the camera visor, as seen in early renders.
While the rear-facing phone could be a Pixel 8 Pro, the Pixel 8a renders appear to show matte bezels, while the Pixel 8 Pro comes with a glossy finish. Signs seem to point to this being the Pixel 8a, especially since the Pixel 8 doesn’t come in blue (it’s exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro), but for now, you should take this with a grain of salt until it’s official.
Overall, the upcoming Pixel 8a is expected to be more expensive than its predecessor. Under the hood, a Tensor G3 chip will likely power it, and some recent certifications have ensured that the Pixel 8a will also have a larger battery.
The Google I/O conference is scheduled for May 14, 2024, where we may get our first official look at the Pixel 8a and other devices.
