Yoshi-P isn’t interested in Final Fantasy Tactics 16, but he does think it’s time for a spin-off

You’re not alone in wanting a new one Final Fantasy Tactics Game, it turns out final fantasy 16 Producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida wanted one too.

It’s been a while since a new Final Fantasy Tactics game was released. While the spin-off games are well-loved by fans, only a handful of games with the Tactics subtitle have been released, despite how much fans of these games love them. Interestingly, Yoshi-P recently stated in an interview with TheGamer that he would also be interested in seeing a new game. When asked about using Final Fantasy XVI as the basis for a new tactics game, Yoshida, Rising Tide DLC director Takeo Kujiraoka and localization director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox all visibly laughed and agreed that its scale might not be the best approach it. “What should we call it?” Fox laughed: “Final Fantasy XVI Tactics? It’s a lot.”

Yoshida continued: “We have a lot of employees who have worked on previous games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy XII, so you’re going to have a lot of those people. [Tactics] It feels like there are a lot of the same people on the team. We’re glad you suggested this because we’re all fans, but if we were to make this we didn’t want to do the same story only to have it turn out to be a different story. ”

When talking about the idea of hypothetically adapting Final Fantasy 16 into a tactical format, Yoshida went on to talk about the issue of scale, saying: “How do we do Eikon vs. Eikon battles in this way? If you have Eikons, how many squares will there be? Becoming Eikon? There are more people there as well, so what about the waiting time in between? …but this series really lends itself to that kind of storytelling, and we love Tactics too. It’s probably about the time we do new That’s it.”

This obviously doesn’t guarantee that something new will happen, but having a respected Square Enix member say something like this might turn things around. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XVI’s second and supposedly final DLC will be released on April 18, and will finally tell the story of what happened to Leviathan.
