According to a recent report from The Verge, one of the hot upcoming games at the Xbox Summer Showcase was Gears of War 6. As far as numbered entries go, the last game in the series was Gears 5, released in 2017. In 2019, Xbox has not launched a main work for some time. Except for the derivative work “Gears of War: Tactics Squad”, no Gear game has been released on Xbox Series X/S.
