The new headphones offer “premium” sound quality through the supplied 11mm drivers. Fairphone adds that users can enable Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which includes wind noise reduction, for a richer experience.
Additionally, the Fairbuds offer “clear calls” for both indoor and outdoor users thanks to their ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) feature. Speaking of (no pun intended), the headphones come with a total of six microphones so the device can capture every word. Additionally, Fairbuds offer multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to connect to two devices simultaneously.
The design of the new Fairbuds has become a talking point, as Fairphone says the devices feature a “modular design” filled with user-replaceable parts. Its spec sheet states that the Fairbuds come with seven spare parts that users can access if something goes wrong. Available parts include new earbuds, battery and silicone ring, earbud tips, charging case shell, case core and case battery.
If a problem arises, European users can purchase these spare parts in the Fairphone online store.
The Fairbuds contain a 45mAh battery, while the charging case has a 500mAh battery capacity. Fairphone says its earphones can last for 6 hours on a full charge and an additional 20 hours in the charging case. As a quick pick-me-up, Fairbuds can get 1.5 hours of playtime in just 10 minutes.
Fairbuds are sweat and water resistant to IP54. The buds and box are made from 70 percent recycled “fair materials,” according to a press release. On the software side, the company said consumers can take advantage of Fairbuds with Google Assistant and Apple Siri for hands-free assistance.
European users looking for the Fairbuds will also get a three-year warranty – a one-year extension to the brand’s typical two-year plan.
Consumers across Europe can purchase Fairphone’s latest model, the Fairbud, for just €149. The headphones are available to pre-order from today (April 9) on the Fairphone website and at select European retailers.
