Battery capacities for the upcoming iPhone 16 series have been revealed today, but keep in mind that this source doesn’t have accurate records, so take this information with a higher degree of skepticism than we’d usually recommend.
The iPhone 16 is said to have a 3,561 mAh battery, which is 6% larger than its predecessor, while the iPhone 16 Plus will apparently have a 4,006 mAh battery, which is 9% smaller than the iPhone 15 Plus. It’s not unheard of for new models to have slightly smaller batteries, but it’s not something that happens too often either.
On the Pro side, the iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have a 3,355 mAh battery, which is 2.5% larger than its predecessor, while the Pro Max is said to have a 4,676 mAh battery, which is 5% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro.
This is the first time battery capacity has been leaked for all four iPhone 16 models, and the numbers are in line with previous rumors, although the numbers omit the iPhone 16 Pro.
As for the iPhone 16 Plus’s smaller battery, in real life this size difference could be mitigated by efficiency improvements in the SoC, the screen, or both, so even if this does succeed, there’s no reason to panic.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to be launched at Apple’s annual hardware event in September this year.
