Google Pixel 8a leaks seem to be getting out of control, with purported specs and renders all over the web. Now there’s a new leak claiming to show live photos of Google’s next mid-range model.
TechDroider posted several real-life photos of the Google Pixel 8a on X (formerly Twitter). One shows the front and the other shows the back. The back has a matte finish, unlike the shiny back we saw on the Pixel 7a.
In addition to the matte back, the leaked photos also show that the Pixel 8a has rounded corners, in line with the sleek look Google introduced on the Pixel 8.
It’s unclear where these images come from, but they reveal a device with noticeable bezels. The bezels are actually quite thick around the edges of the phone, but that’s consistent with what we’ve seen on past A-series Pixel models.
Big bezels aren’t necessarily a bad thing, but these leaks do make the Pixel 8a look a bit budget-friendly. Maybe it’s just a matter of the angle of the photo, though. Wish the real phone had narrower bezels.
The images also give us a glimpse of the rumored 6.1-inch screen. Previous rumors suggested that the Pixel 8a could be the first phone in the series to feature a 120Hz refresh rate screen.
Earlier leaks suggested that the Pixel 8a might get some nice upgrades under the hood. It is rumored to be equipped with Google’s latest Tensor G3 chip, which should improve performance compared to the Pixel 7a.
The camera setup may remain the same with a 64MP main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide sensor, but it’s still a pretty good combo.
Pixel 8a leaks paint a picture of a phone that’s on the verge of reclaiming its place as a top contender in the mid-range device category. However, there are rumors that the price of this phone may increase significantly, which may be a disadvantage for some potential buyers.
