Upcoming Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) headphones leaked ahead of April 18 launch

Last week, Nothing revealed that the earphones that will officially launch on April 18 are the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), as the company intends to “reset” its naming scheme, thus ditching the numbers used for notifications. We know which generation the product is.

Both earbud models have been leaked today, along with images and specs, so let’s start with the high-end Nothing Ear. These headphones are said to be priced at €150 and, unsurprisingly, will be the successor to the Nothing Ear (2).

The new Nothing Ear will have an IP54 dust and splash resistance rating, while the outer shell will have an IPX2 rating. The earphones have a battery life of 7.5 hours with ANC turned off, and the charging case gives you a total of 33 hours of battery life. Nothing Ear will be available in black and white, with a transparent theme, just like you’ve come to expect from Nothing.

According to the leaked information, Nothing Ear (a) will be the cheaper option – 100 euros. For that money, you still get active noise cancellation, dual-connectivity support, and fast charging, just like with the Ear.

The Ear (a) headphones last for 8 hours with ANC turned off, and the case gives you a total of 38 hours. They will also be IP54 rated, and for some reason the case will get a better IP55 rating.

Reportedly, they’ll be available in black, white, and yellow, with the yellow hue being somehow more environmentally friendly (this wasn’t elaborated on further, so we don’t know how or why).

All in all, these look like a very solid audio product from Nothing. We look forward to their official release next week.
