I went to CinemaCon and got sucked into a Twisters straw

A lot of people come to Vegas for this kind of thing, but I did it for free.I’m talking about entering a new theater stage Universal Pictures’ upcoming movies, tornado. It’s a giant tube that you stand in, lock the door, flip a switch, and the air blows on you It’s like you’re standing in a tornado.

The tube is on display at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevadais a film and technology studio that attracts theater owners to screen their films or use their products for conferences.Later tonight, Warner Bros. will release the first trailer Joker 2 in activity.Later this week, Disney is sure to show us something from deadpool and wolverine. Yes, Universal Pictures will also announce more about tornadois the sequel to the 1996 hit film starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt.

Which brings us back to the tube. First, let’s explain most of this with a video. Thanks to my friends Umberto (from The Wrap) To assist.

I went to CinemaCon and got sucked into a Twisters straw

I went to Cinemacon and the Twisters straws blew me away

As you can see, you enter the heavy duty pipe, a latch locks you inside, and then you turn on what is basically a light switch. That’s when the fun begins. Or, more specifically, kind of funny. The air blowing against your back gives my imagination almost no hint of the feeling of a real tornado. It’s more like standing in front of a large, very powerful hand dryer. It blew up my shirt a little bit. If I had long hair, it would be very flowing. Then, 10 seconds later, it was over.

However, Universal Studios actually offers fans the chance to let the wind blow over them in such a controlled environment, which is both smart and fun. The whole thing makes for a great short video for social media. It’s also a callback to a very memorable scene from the original.

Dusty explains the “suck zone”

Do you have tornado Does it make me want to watch a movie? Not really. But I’ve never been blown away by a movie before, so this is it.

tornadoThe film, directed by Lee Isaac Chung and starring Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, will be released on July 19.
