Ubisoft and Evil Empire announced rogue prince of persiaa 2D action platform rogue-lite game will be available on Steam Early Access on May 14th.
The game is set in Ctesiphon, the fictional capital of the Persian Empire, facing an invasion by the Hun army led by the Hun leader Nogai.
As a prince, you are given the mysterious Paula, which resurrects you every time you die. This magical artifact lets you take huge risks in your youth to perfect your acrobatic and combat skills, making you the powerful warrior you are today.
Try again and again, you must explore different biomes, master new weapons, equip new trinkets, upgrade your equipment in the oasis, and recruit allies to save the city from destruction.
From aqueducts to magnificent academies, you must use all your acrobatic skills to safely find a route through various levels of procedurally generated biomes inspired by Persian architecture. In addition to environmental hazards, you’ll fight a variety of enemies, ranging from Huns who wield dark shamanic magic to creatures corrupted by its influence.
There are a variety of options to choose from, from dual daggers to spears, broadswords and axes, to suit all play styles. Auxiliary weapons include shields, bows, grappling hooks, and more. Combining these with wall runs, shoulder jumps, kicks, and stomps will make every run unique.
The game’s soundtrack, produced and composed by Persian-American electronic music producer and performance artist ASADI, blends tradition and modernity, with rhythms supporting the prince’s movements and flows.
Evil Empire approached Ubisoft with a request for Prince of Persia, and the two decided to use early access to work with the community to create the best game possible. Over time, you can expect new levels, bosses, weapons, enemies, and upgrades to arrive, as well as content added based on community feedback.
