We’ve previously listed our ten favorite strategy/tactics RPGs on Switch, but it’s been a few years since then and I don’t think this is the most shocking news, there are more in the genre A wonderful game that deserves to be highlighted. As usual, we’re doing a second wave of these lists, don’t think of them as replacements for the first set. After all, they’re still as good as ever. Instead, think of this as an extension of that list. It’s time to get into ten more fantastic S/TRPG games, listed in no particular order, as always.
Tactics Ogre Reborn ($49.99)
One of the most popular games on Switch of this type is Final Fantasy Tactics, of course, I would also like to see this. But besides playing Final Fantasy Tactics There’s no better way to relieve that particular itch anywhere else Tactics Ogre Reborn. This is a star remake Final Fantasy Tactics‘s predecessor, there are tons of options available and quality-of-life features to tweak your experience. A great story, a great game, and a great version.
Corrupted Seal: Mark of the Arbiter ($29.99)
However, if you want to play something more modern and indie, I would enthusiastically recommend Corrupted Seal: Mark of the Arbiter. This is a game that very much follows the style of Final Fantasy Tactics, but nonetheless it has a strong identity of its own. The narrative is engaging and the tactical gameplay is both challenging and compelling. This is another game that gives you a ton of modifiable mechanics, which is almost always a plus for a game like this.
DioField Chronicle($59.99)
Remember those months when Square Enix would release a new game almost every week? I feel like a lot of games get lost in the shuffle; DioField Chronicle is one of them. While the game does have its fair share of flaws, it’s a very unique title in many ways. The combat system is really fun, the presentation is great, and the story… The combat system is really interesting! All jokes aside, this seems to be a love-hate thing, but I’m the former, so I’m putting it on this list.
Fire Emblem Engagement ($59.99)
Look, no sugarcoating: this is not as good as Fire Emblem: Three Houses. If you’re sitting there trying to decide which Switch to choose fire emblem Game to get, snatch three houses First. but! but! if you love fire emblemYou can’t go wrong with the gameplay engage in.The story is weak but it happens every second or three seconds fire emblem Anyway, game. But what about the gameplay? You get a lot of cool maps, a lot of flexibility in how you handle them, and some fun new gameplay quirks to try.I hope the next one fire emblem The game is a bit strong, but engage in It’s also a lot of fun.
Unicorn Overlord ($59.99)
The newest release on this list, but one you don’t want to miss. Vanillaware put a lot of talent into making a tactical RPG, and no aspect was left out. A captivating story, great characters and dialogue, interesting gameplay mechanics, and a gorgeous presentation all combine to create a game that fans of the genre won’t want to miss.Reminiscent of the legendary Ogre War, and the idea of the game barely got the revisiting it deserved. This type of battle often feels smaller out of necessity, but Unicorn Overlord It really creates an atmosphere of epic proportions and really makes you understand that you’re leading an army. Very cool.
Dark God($24.99)
Another independent piece, this time paying homage to a very special era fire emblem Franchise. For Western audiences, the Game Boy Advance fire emblem The games were our first introduction to the series, so it’s no surprise that they hold a special place in fans’ hearts. Dark God If some of these fans grow up and make their own opinions on these games, that’s what will happen, and do it very well. The classic feel and challenging combat make this game stand out among the many games that have made similar attempts.
Persona 5: Tactics ($59.99)
Persona 5 It has had 12 spin-offs in different genres so far, and here are its entries into the tactical RPG genre. Well, Atlus isn’t inexperienced in this genre.this demon survivor After all, the competition was great. This is also true!It doesn’t really try to subvert the genre, but it incorporates elements of Persona 5 It could and certainly benefited greatly from the presence of its characters and setting. The perfect gateway into the genre Persona Fans, overall this was a very good match.
Yggdra Union ~We Never Stand Alone~ ($24.99)
Another classic is reborn on Switch, world tree alliance It was first released on the Game Boy Advance back in 2006. The card system used in its combat was quite unusual at the time, and its alliance system is still pretty cool today. This re-release appears to be a descendant of the PlayStation Portable version, but regardless, it doesn’t feel terribly out of place on the Switch. This is another game that won’t be for everyone, but those who do like it tend to enjoy it a lot.
Mario + Rabbids: Spark of Hope ($59.99)
This may expand on the RPG aspect, but Mario + Rabbids: Spark of Hope A great follow-up to an approachable and very entertaining work Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, I think a lot of people sleep on them for some reason. It builds on that game in a great way, adding new characters, enemies, abilities, and more. Since it’s a Ubisoft game, it’s heavily discounted every few weeks or so. So happy. Pretend there’s more RPG stuff in there so the list police won’t be mad at me.
Front Mission 2: Remastered ($34.99)
Front Mission 2: RemasteredAs the name suggests, it is a remake of the second main line frontline mission game, but this is actually my first time playing an entry in the series.I like front mission first remake Despite its issues, there’s quite a bit to be gained, and this is my first experience with the original game and the series.when Front Mission 2: Remastered Following the announcement, I’m excited to see more of the series coming to modern platforms, but hopefully it’ll be a better package from day one. This tactical RPG is a little rougher around the edges than the first remake, but I had a lot of fun playing it on the Switch. If you’re not sure, I recommend trying the demo, but consider playing with it front mission first remake advance. As with the first game, waiting a few patches will pay off. It’s much better now than it was at launch, and it even got a huge update this month that adds new games and improved translation among other fixes and tweaks. ——Mikhail Madanani
