Oracle originally appeared on Audible as an audiobook, narrated by Joshua Jackson of Dawson’s Creek fame. However, Oracle 2 was released as a podcast, with Jackson joined by other voice actors including Devin Bostic and Humberly Gonzalez. The original story follows an FBI psychic who solves crimes by touching people close to the victim. Doing so would allow him to see what happened before the victim was kidnapped or killed.
In Oracle 2, Jackson’s character pursues a serial killer and ends up in an abandoned theme park where he discovers a horrific curse. Andrew Pyper, author of the original audiobook and podcast, will serve as executive producer on the live-action series. There’s no word yet on whether Joshua Jackson will reprise the role.

6 text + music
Some famous music documentaries
text + music
- type
- music documentaries
- studio
- Amazon MGM Studios
- Format
- documentary series
Words + Music is a little different than the other podcasts on this list. It’s not a podcast with a specific theme or story, but rather an overall collection of podcasts produced by some of the most famous musicians on the planet. Each artist offers their own unique combination of words and music on a subject close to their heart.
For example, Beginner’s Mind is cellist Yo-Yo Mar’s words + music podcast that blends exclusive performances with his own personal memoir. Alice Cooper’s Who Am I Really: The Vampire Diaries tells the story of how he creates rock performances that he mixes with his music to drive audiences crazy. Other musicians who contributed to the series include Alanis Morissette, Sting, Smokey Robinson, Rufus Wainwright, Mariah Carey, Tenacious D and Pete Townshend. The live-action version should showcase more of the star’s storytelling and musical talents.

Breakthrough is an unscripted singing competition podcast. Similar in concept to shows like “American Idol,” “Breakthrough” focuses not only on singing challenges but also on songwriting skills. The show features celebrity judges Sara Bareilles and Kelly Rowland and is hosted by Daveed Diggs.
It will be interesting to see how this show translates to the big screen, as one of the unique selling points of the Breakthrough podcast is that, as an audio-only show, the singers are based entirely on talent rather than their appearance. The one-hour show is slated to air and is executive produced by DJ and production duo The Chainsmokers.
