There’s only one Marvel Studios movie coming out this year, but it’s one of the biggest yet. deadpool and wolverine Set to be released on July 26, this will not only be the first MCU movie starring Ryan Reynolds as the saucy killer; Wolverine makes his MCU debutplayed by Hugh Jackman.
This alone has already excited fans Number of viewers The first trailer proves this yet again. The fun continues with Disney, debuting new footage at CinemaCon 2024, and here’s what happened.
Wade Wilson grabbed a staple gun, used it to put on a wig, and said, “Now let’s sell some certified pre-owned cars, assholes.” The highlight cut to Wade in the back seat of a car , a family is taking a test drive. They asked him some questions but he kept cursing and mentioned that he didn’t have kids because he didn’t have much vaginal sex. He’s terrible at this.
Peter (Rob Delaney) apparently works there too, and they’re talking in the locker room about how Wade might be a terrible salesman, but he can always come back to being a superhero. Wade explained that he was completely done. This is the life he wants, and if you “aim for the middle, you’ll never miss it.” Peter shows him an old Deadpool suit in his locker.
Wade and Peter were riding their bikes home from get off work when Wade noticed someone taking a picture of them. The conversation continues about wanting to be a superhero again, with Peter asking Wade if he’s just sad because it’s his birthday. He also mentioned a very interesting piercing he had just gotten.
Yes, today is Wade’s birthday. He walks into his apartment and it’s a surprise party. It’s filled with his friends from the first two movies: Negasonic, Colossus, Dopinder, Blind Al, and more. Wade walked around the room, catching up with everyone. One of the highlights was Wade and Al exchanging tons of insults back and forth. She asked him if he wanted to do cocaine, which he said was something Kevin Feige said. She blurted out a bunch of different pseudonyms, and he said Fitch knew them all. Finally she said, “Do you want to build a snowman?” He said, yes, but I can’t.
Vanessa was there, but they were no longer together. But she was dating someone at work, and Wade was happy for her, even though he didn’t see anyone.
The band sang “Happy Birthday” and then Wade gave a heartfelt speech expressing how much he loves everyone in the room. He said that despite going through some tough times, he is really happy now because of these years. He then proceeds to blow out the candle…and as soon as he blows it out, there is a knock on the door.
You’ve already seen some of this in the trailer. This is TVA. Wade thinks they are a bunch of guys who are going to have sex with him and he feels really dirty about what he wants them to do to all his holes. Then they got fed up, knocked him out, and put him through a door at TVA.
In TVA, Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) tells Wade that a) he soiled himself and b) what TVA did. “That’s a lot of exposition for a trilogy,” Wade said. Mr. Paradox tells him that he knows Wade has abused the timeline before using Cable’s time travel device, but that’s not why he’s there.
Wade was clearly chosen for a higher purpose. TVA doesn’t even know this. He needs to save the sacred timeline from a terrible fate at some point in the future. The two joked about the need for “revenge.” They will be “wowed” by how “cinematic” it is. Wade said he wanted it all, the cameos, the variations, the production.
They turned to the screen, which showed Steve Rogers as Captain America. Wade recognized him and paid homage to the screen. “You are no longer lost,” Mr. Paradox said, “you can be a hero now.” At this time, Wade noticed Thor crying on the screen holding the dying Deadpool. “Why is Thor crying?” he asked. But Wade wasn’t supposed to see that; that was happening in the distant future.
Wade went all out and said he would be back to help. He then turned to the camera, ran towards it, grabbed it, shook it, and said, “Suck it, fox! I’m going to Disneyland!” He also performed oral sex on the boom microphone.
“Oh, I need one more thing,” Wade said. This is a costume. TVA tailors made him a new and updated Deadpool costume, which was put together in a series of quick edits… including quite a few shots of the tailor grabbing Wade’s crotch.
Wade likes the new costume, even if he has to tell them that the tailor is a predator. He also mentions that his katana is made of adamantium. He joked that a TVA employee was staring at him and his underwear was getting tighter. The employee picked up the phone and called HR.
This leads to a montage of action scenes mostly from the first trailer. The dog pool runs in slow motion. Lots of shooting. Wade was in the back seat of a damn car. Finally, we see him in a car with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
“What happened to that suit?” Wade asked. “Did the X-Men tell you to wear that?” He commented that he looked like he was fighting crime for the Los Angeles Rams, but Wolverine didn’t think so. “I just wanted to make a little connection,” he said.
